Last year's Wu-Tang Clan album, A Better Tomorrow, was supposed to be the final record from the influential hip-hop group. Then, earlier this year, RZA said he was handing the reigns of a new Wu record over to Ghostface Killah. Now, speaking to HipHopDX, Ghostface elaborated on it: "RZA put the ball in my hand. He said 'Yo, I want you to do it,' and I been wanting to do it, and that’s a big test for me right there. It’s not what you do, it’s how you do it. But it has to be done right. If it don’t fit then we can’t do it. It'll just have to be done nice. That’s it. People can't talk about it unless it’s good."
New York Dolls member Johnny Thunders will be the subject of a new biopic based off the biography Johnny Thunders: In Cold Blood. The film, directed by Jonas Ã…kerlund will begin shooting next year.
Speaking at the listening party to their first album in 18 years, We Got If From Here... Thank You 4 Your Service, the surviving members of A Tribe Called Quest discussed how they came together to make the album. Q-Tip said: "We spoke about it at length, [Phife] and I, about the importance of maintaining the essence [of A Tribe Called Quest] but not getting trapped in that and trying to see it beyond. We would just listen to shit we liked —'Bohemian Rhapsody' by Queen, and then we would listen to 'Money Trees' by Kendrick, then we'd go to Rakim. It was a sonic exercise to hear all those different records and see the common thread." Busta Rhymes, who has worked with them in the past and appears on the album added: "Nobody don't sit in a room and write with each other no more. Everybody just send their little ProTools to each other, and you get the verse back in an email. When you write your verse, and you look at your man that's in the room with you, and he's reacting to his own bars that he's impressing himself with? You wanna go over there and hear what he's got to say. That was exactly what we did when we wrote 'Scenario.'"

Could Rage Against the Machine be laying the ground work for a reunion? Bassist Tim Commerford spoke to Kerrang and said: "I am a fan of [RATM] as much as I am a member and, like any RATM fan, it’s something I hope can one day happen. My relationship with Zack is the best it’s been in a long time – and we’ve known each other since we were little kids. I really enjoy my relationship with Zack right now. If it gets no better than it is at the moment then I’m happy with that, because I love the guy. I wanna grow up and be an old man and hang out with him., just being bros. That’s the most important thing. Whether or not that leads to us playing music is yet to be seen. But I am hopeful, because I believe that’s how you do it… That’s how you make things happen, by connecting with people in a real way. We’re like brothers and the future is bright. RATM is not broken up, we never broke up. Keep your fingers crossed.”
Joey Bada$$' upcoming A.B.B.A. album has officially been pushed back to 2017.
It has been a very long time since System of a Down have released a record and drummer John Dolmayan spoke to Kerrang about new music after a series of festival dates were announced from the band. He said: "We’ve been working on a new album for the last six months and there’s about 15 songs that I think are album-worthy,” drummer John Dolmayan told Kerrang. “We don’t know what’s happening in terms of release, it’s still not 100% as far as plans go. I want everyone on board and feeling good about it, that’s what we’re trying to accomplish right now. There’s a tremendous amount of pressure on us, though, because it’s been 11 years – at least 12 by the time it comes out.”

Live Review: Temple of the Dog at Madison Square Garden
It was an event 25 years in the making. The members of Temple of the Dog toured for the very first time to celebrate the anniversary of their only record and it took them to clubs, amphitheaters and Madison Square Garden.
The band formed following the passing of Mother Love Bone singer Andy Wood. Wood died at 24 of a drug overdose, his then-roomate Soudgarden's Chris Cornell got together with his drummer, Matt Cameron and Mother Love Bone members Stone Gossard and Jeff Ament as well as Gossard's high school friend Mike McCreedy to form Temple of the Dog. They crafted a tribute record to Wood and little did they know that the band eventually formed the blueprint to Pearl Jam and help put Seattle grunge on the map.
In many ways they are a super group. In many ways they are a one hit wonder. In many ways this band was just a side project that did really well. Whatever the case may be, Temple of the Dog's fans have waited for this moment to happen for too long.
Headlining Madison Square Garden is no easy task, both Pearl Jam and Soundgarden have done it but in this fashion it was different and there were many kinks early on.
Hitting the stage and opening with "Say Hello 2 Heaven" and "Wooden Jesus," Cornell's voice sounded off and the band did not seem in sync. By the time "Call Me a Dog" and "Your Savior" were played, things changed. It finally found a balance.

The Temple of the Dog album only had 10 songs on it, so for the 135 minutes they were on stage, they filled the gap with Mother Love Bone tunes and covers. Cornell became the master of ceremony as he brought the fans inside for a trip down memory lane. Playing songs from the Singles soundtrack as well as songs they were listening to while making the album. Songs like David Bowie's "Quicksand," The Cure's "Fascination Street," Pink Floyd's "Comfortably Numb," Zeppelin's "Achilles Last Stand," and the closer Sabbath's "War Pigs," the night became a rock and roll extravaganza.

Of course "Hunger Strike" was performed and Cornell had the audience sing Eddie Vedder's famous lines but to much disappointment the Pearl Jam frontman did not join the band on stage. It left a hole in many hearts, however, Temple of the Dog were there to prove this isn't going to be a Cornell show, a Soundgarden gig or Pearl Jam concert. It was there moment -- 25 years later.

Lorde took to Facebook to deliver a lengthy note about the update to her long awaited new album. She told fans: "You'll have to hold on. The big day is not tomorrow, or even next month realistically, but soon. I know you understand." Read the whole statement below:
Spiritualized's J. Spaceman has hinted that his forthcoming album will be his last. He told The Independent: "I’m a lot older now and in a weird way I think it’s my last record. ... I’ve already covered so much ground and already done a load of ideas. There’s no point doing something unless it’s better than that. It’s mentally and physically such a taxing and demanding year or so, and there’s no point doing it unless it’s really something else. I’ve never bowed to pressure and done anything I’d considered a bad move artistically. And I won’t start for anybody."
In the same interview, Spaceman also discussed turning down offers of his former band Spaceman3, saying: "It’s a ton of money. But I think it’s too important for that, I really do. It’s been my life’s work to wave my small flag to show how important rock n roll is. You can buy those records if you want to hear the music. The argument that gets thrown at me is people didn’t see it first time. But there’s a whole history of mankind and I wasn’t there for most of it. Maybe I’m just stupid. I certainly need the money. Who doesn’t need that? Who couldn’t give half of it away if they did have it?"
Pharrell spoke at ComplexCon over the weekend and when asked about a new N*E*R*D album, he said it will happen and will come "when it's time."
