Today marks the 16th anniversary of the September 11 attacks in New York City, Washington, and Pennsylvania. VINTAGE CLIP: Johnny Cash on 'Letterman' in '93
In 1993, Johnny Cash appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman and performed his 60s classic, "Don't Take Your Guns to Town," watch the VINTAGE CLIP above. We post the poignant clip as the Cash family -- Rosanne, Kathy, Cindy, Tara, and John Carter Cash, released a statement on Rosanne's Facebook page denouncing a white supremacist who was filmed wearing a Johnny Cash shirt at last weekend's horrific events in Charlottesville. In the post, they condemn the white supremacist as someone "spewing hatred and bile." They added: "To any who claim supremacy over other human beings, to any who believe in racial or religious hierarchy: we are not you. Our father, as a person, icon, or symbol, is not you. We ask that the Cash name be kept far away from destructive and hateful ideology.”
