QUICK SPINS

Kendrick Lamar – DAMN.

“You all got ‘til April 7 to get your shit together,” that line came in the form of a call to arms to every rapper alive as Kendrick Lamar released “The Heart Pt. 4,” a song that is a stand alone single that doesn’t even appear on his latest record. Once April 7 came, it was announced he was releasing a new album the following week – which would be Good Friday on the Christian calendar. As the week went on, new info on the album titled DAMN., would arrive and as it came at the stroke of Midnight on April 14, the world wasn’t ready. DAMN., isn’t Pimping a Butterfly again nor is it a good kid going back to the maad city.. It is Kendrick Lamar solidifying himself as the best rapper alive and a top five emcee. As he uses the words thrown against him, the headlines that are flashed around the news, DAMN. is a record that is just as much in the ethos of punk rock as it is in hip-hop. If Johnny Rotten fronted The Clash it would have that attitude and political / social rawness and awareness. Yet, Lamar, who is a fan of jazz, Afropunk, rock, and clearly 90s rap and R&B, he mixes his influences together with a record that is not just the best to come out in 2017 but an album that has the Compton rapper touching the arch of music history.
FINAL GRADE: A+

Joey Bada$$ – All Amerikkkan Bada$$

Just a week before Kendrick Lamar made headlines with DAMN., Brooklyn rapper Joey Bada$$ released his sophomore album and continues to build on the momentum he created with his stellar debut, B4 Da Money. All Amerikkkan Bada$$ is lyrical fuck you to the system, Trump, and anyone who is trying to pin someone down. Bada$$ proves he is not just one of the best young rappers around today but he goes swinging for the big leagues and if there was a record that could make everyone pay attention to him, this is it.
FINAL GRADE: A

Future Islands – The Far Field

On their fifth record, Baltimore experimental outfit Future Islands delivers their thunderous best. The Far Field is a record about obsession, love, passion, and captivation. It is a record that also captures the rawness and intensity of their live shows and even gets applause from heavy hitters like Debbie Harry from Blondie who appears on the album to led her voice.
FINAL GRADE: A

Mastodon – Emperor of Sand

The Georgia metal monsters return with a record that is totally full circle. Emperor of Sand is a record that cherry picks nearly every type of metal, rock, and prog that the band have done over the years on each of their albums and puts it together that it not only pleases old fans but new ones as well.
FINAL GRADE: A-

Arca

The Venezuelan beatmaker and musician returns with his third record and is an expose into his own self. Following the abrasive and uncomfortable Mutant, Arca’s self-titled release is a welcome sound of what music will be in the next five years. Always pushing the envelope and creating the future of music and beats, he still stands out as someone to keep a close eye on.
FINAL GRADE: B+

Maxiimo Park – Risk to Exist

On their best album in a decade, Maxiimo Park return to their roots and take influence from Brexit to create a record that would have had people gasping in their heyday. Risk to Exist is an album of catchy tunes with meaning and a band fully realizing who they are as their career has changed course.
FINAL GRADE: B+

Aimee Mann – Mental Illness

One of America’s best singer / songwriters returns with a heavy record about an even heavier subject. Mann has put out her saddest, slowest, and most difficult record to date but only she can make something so hard like mental illness and give it a series of songs that showcase the importance as to why this topic is something that needs to be discussed more rather than shunned.
FINAL GRADE: B

Pallbearer – Heartless

The melodic doom metal band from Arkansas return and continue to put their listeners into a musical chokehold on their latest.
FINAL GRADE: B

Mew – Visuals

The Danish alternative band return after a few years away from the music world and come back with a record that sticks true to their formula but also fits the mold of the modern era.
FINAL GRADE: B

Nelly Furtado – The Ride

After five years away, everyone’s favorite Canadian singer /songwriter comes back with more alternative pop classics that combine her love of hip-hop beats and folk flavor. While she describes The Ride as “a hangover album,” the album is one you can listen to sober as well and still enjoy.
FINAL GRADE: B

Joe Goddard – Electric Lines

Eight years after his solo debut, the Hot Chip beatmaker and sometimes singer is back with his sophomore effort and is another one of club favorites that feature his clever lyrics and passion for dance.
FINAL GRADE: B

John Mellencamp – Sad Clowns and Hillbillies

One of America’s greatest singer / songwriters is back with his latest offering on love, loss, desperation, and how the common man is getting screwed over by the system.
FINAL GRADE: B

Guided By Voices – August By Cake

On their first ever double album, Guided By Voices give fans a longer GBV record than usual. It is solid but nothing too left field for the indie vets.
FINAL GRADE: B-

Robyn Hitchcock

The indie singer-songwriter returns with a record produced by The Raconteurs' Brendan Benson and delivers everything you have come to expect.
FINAL GRADE: B-

Incubus – 8

For their first full length album since 2011’s disappointing If Not Now When?, Incubus come back with 8, a record that had promise following 2015’s fantastic Trust Fall Side A EP. Their latest isn’t just the sound of a band who seem to lost their mojo, it feels as if they are trying too hard in the process. Linking up with Skrillex to produce a number of tracks, the California rockers sound overproduced and uninspired in a record that could have put them back as not just a novelty act but a band who are still serious about the music they make.
FINAL GRADE: C

Jamiroquai –Automaton

Music lovers around the globe rejoiced after British dance rockers Jamiroquai announced a new album earlier this year. Yet, after Automaton arrived, it failed to deliver the promise of what everyone expected. Instead of getting a funky dance album that could push the boundaries of what is currently happening in the genre, they get a formulaic record that doesn’t hit the mark.
FINAL GRADE: C

Father John Misty – Pure Comedy

The former Fleet Foxes drummer returns with his third album under the Father John Misty record and we can’t actually tell if we are supposed to take it serious or if the record, like his persona, is a phony act and joke?
FINAL GRADE: D

Cold War Kids – L.A. Divine

Cold War Kids had such promise when they arrived on the scene 10 years ago but now album after album, the band sound like a fraction of their former selves and come off like a band that are still grasping for musical straws.
FINAL GRADE: D

Metallica's Lars Ulrich spoke to James Corden about his band's technically glitched set where singer James Hetfield's mic didn't work. According to Ulrich, Hetfield lost it after the performance. “I haven’t seen him like that in 20 years,” Ulrich said on The Late Late Show. “He’s aged really well and he’s a pretty chill guy, but the first five or 10 minutes in that dressing room was not a lot of fun. But, like they say, the show must go on.”

Speaking to NME at the NME Awards Wednesday night, Johnny Marr said that he and Beck have discussed working together as well as having Josh Homme from Queens of the Stone Age team up with them. "Me and Beck have been talking about doing something," he said. "I'd like to do another song with Beck I think, and maybe Josh with Queens of the Stone Age. He's a really, really good musician."

Also speaking at the NME Awards was Carl Barat, who confirmed that he is working on a new album with his band The Jackals. He also said that the Libertines will be making a new album soon. The Libertines record, that might take a bit more time – but we’re trying to get our project together, so we’ll see how that goes really. That big secret that Pete told everyone!”

Live Review: Incubus / Deftones @ Jones Beach

Maybe it is the nostalgia factor or maybe it is because they both hail from California and have had an influence on the generation they played in front of -- but the idea of Incubus and Deftones co-headlining a tour in 2015 just felt and sounded like a great idea.

The California bands have been on a trek all summer with Death from Above 1979 and The Bots and their four band packaged tour finally hit the East Coast and Jones Beach Amphitheater in Long Island.

The venue is very special for both acts. In the late 90's it is where Deftones would play some of their biggest crowds at radio station KROCK's Dysfunctional Family Picnic, then eventually returning over the years, most recently in 2013 when they co-headlined with System of a Down during a torrential downpour. For Incubus, it was in 2001 during Moby's Area: One festival and then eventually on their own headlining tours. Since both bands love the ocean and beach so much, this is the best place see them as they brought their West Coast flavor to the other side of America.

Deftones, who will be releasing a new record this fall did not give fans a taste of what was to come, instead brought out the hits and deep cuts to their 80-minute set. Opening with "Diamond Eyes," "Rocket Skates," and "Tempest," that triple threat set the bar right away. As the sun went down, and singer Chino Moreno's sweat stains were showing on every part of his clothing, the fans were packing in as they rushed out of work and to the venue to see the band. While Incubus would be the headliner, Deftones knew the audience. Making their set their own, they didn't hit too many aggressive tracks like "7 Words," "Elite," or "Rats! Rats! Rats!," and instead opted for more melodic tracks like "Sextape," "Digital Bath," "Be Quiet and Drive," and "Change," though they did manage to sneak in "Knife Prty," and "Headup." As the sun sank into the ocean, they brought the fury with "Bored" and "Engine No. 9" which would feature a mashup of Cypress Hill's "How I Can Just Kill A Man." Deftones, who are always on the road, always promise a solid performance and they delivered on that.

Following a brief intermission, it was the boys from SoCal's turn to please the crowd. Incubus came on at a quarter after nine opening with "Nice to Know You," the alt rockers had the darkness of the night as their companion as they were backed by a massive screen and light show. Their set was a trip down memory lane for the audience in attendance. Unlike Deftones, who have hit a musical Renaissance in recent years, Incubus have laid low, even going on hiatus in 2011 after the release of their dismal If Not Now, When? They quietly released an EP, Trust Fall, this year. So, hitting the road and playing amphitheaters again, they knew they had the please the fans and give them what they want. Playing the hits like "Anna Molly," "Pistola," "Vitamin," and their fantastic new single "Absolution Calling," "Wish You Were Here," "Drive," had the crowd engaged. Yet, it was songs like "Vitamin," "Circles," "Are You In?," that had the hard core paying customers totally thrilled. As they reworked classics like "Pardon Me," and "Megalomaniac" -- which featured parts of Nirvana's "Come As You Are," and jammed through "Sick Sad Little World," "Trust Fall," and the night's closer, "A Crow Left of the Murder," everyone went home happy. This is a band who you forgot how many hits they had and when you hear them, they hit you and bring you back to a moment in time.

While both of these bands have been crafting music for over 20 years, their fanbases have grown older and in some cases, larger, but one thing has not changed, they still look like they are having fun on stage after all these years.

EXCLUSIVE! The Bots INTV!

One of the most anticipated tours of the summer is Deftones / Incubus' co-headlining outing with Death from Above 1979. There is another duo on the bill that may be young but have proven to be worthy of touring with such modern rock icons. That band is California duo, The Bots, who released their debut, Pink Palms, last year and have been turning heads wherever they go. From Zane Lowe to The Guardian to Seth Meyers, to Walking Dead's Norman Reedus requesting to direct their latest video, The Bots are poised to be one of rocks next big acts. We spoke to the members, Anaiah and Mikaiah Lei about coming of age, their music and the buzz around them. Take a look at our interview below:

In recent years we have seen so many duos emerge, (bands like The White Stripes, Black Keys, Death from Above 1979, Royal Blood) how do you try to differ from the rest?

Mikaiah: I love The Whites Stripes before I even got into Death From Above. They are two two-piece bands that sound nothing alike but have a lot in common that's how I view what we are doing.

Anaiah: As they have all managed to differ from one another, we're doing the same. We are doing what we wanna do, just like The White Stripes did what they wanted to do. And I respect and acknowledge them for that.

You are living your rock and roll dreams at a young age. How is it dealing with all of the new exposure?

M: I do feel like we are living our dreams but I don't allow myself to feed into the press or media stuff. Ignorance is bliss.

A: We've worked very hard to get where we are and we still have a long way to go. Very blessed to have the exposure that we do have. ♡

Who came up with the idea to call yourselves The Bots?

M: I did I high school with 2 other friends at the time. Nothing else to it haha

Hailing from California, how much has the Golden State influenced your work?

M: I've has influenced much of my work, I don't really think about where I live I just love there. I influenced by life and other experiences.

A: Well Los Angeles is home, you could always find inspiration from home. Even if you don't believe so, it's possible to.

When you are not playing and recording, what do you do for fun?

M: I live a very boring humdrum life, I wake up around 7:00 7:30 every morning stretch, meditate, exercise and I play music throughout the day. It's my only hobby but I don't get bored because I play multiple instruments. If I find myself tired of playing guitar I can play keys, after keys I move onto drums, drums to the bass, bass to ukulele the list goes on.

A: I enjoy filming skateboarding. And making skateboard edits. And making obscure instrumentals.

Do you still feel you are living normal teen lives?

M: I've been a young adult for a min now so it's hard to answer that question, my teenage year were very different from others I went to school with. I felt like an outcast although I had friends.

A: Well considering Mikaiah is 21 going on 22, and I'm sadly exiting my teen years shortly. I feel like I'm just living a youthful life. I get into shenanigans and all that. A normal teenage life that I'm aware of is stuck in technology. Which I try not to be.

So many young bands have been coming through the ranks in recent years as well (artists like Unlocking the Truth, Radkey, Jake Bugg). What is it about the new class that inspires you to craft rock and roll?

M: I don't feel inspired by the new class, I try not to pay to much attention to what's happening around me, although I am conscious of it I just don't involve myself in the new music as much as I could. It's nothing against new artist that are coming up, I just focus on myself and what I am working at first.

A: There's finally a surge of bands coming up that aren't starting in their late 20s. Age should never play a factor in the music. We make music because we want to make music. It's our passion we thrive and excel from it.

In an era when not many American bands are coming of age like you guys, who are your biggest inspirations for wanting to do this?

M: I looked to Bob Marley, Nirvana, bunch of oldies groups. Our parents have inspired us in a sense but I feel as if it's something I've always wanted and I've been very lucky enough u work at it.

A: Well we've always wanted to do music, ever since we were very young kids. The White Stripes was in fact a massive influence on us though!

From Seth Meyers to The Guardian, you are being discussed all over the world. What is it like?

A: It feels truly wonderful to be recognized as artists around the world. It really is a strange feeling but just feels so good.

How did you end up landing Norman Reedus in your latest music video? What was that experience like?

M: He wanted to make a music video for us and we went with it. He was lovely, super funny and charming easy to work with. Nothing negative to say about him.

A: He hit us up to do the video. It was awesome getting to work with him. He was very spontaneous and knew almost exactly what he wanted!

After releasing Pink Palms last year, things became such a whirlwind for you. What is next for the band?

M: Things feel the same but I've notice more people taking a liking to us which is awesome. We will be playing more shows and tour the album still. And in the future another album to come

A: We're writing a new album at the moment, and we'll be touring more! Very excited about what the future.

QUICK SPINS

Kendrick Lamar – To Pimp A Butterfly
Two days after the 20th anniversary of Tupac’s Me Against the World, Kendrick Lamar surprise released his sophomore album a week ahead of schedule and if anyone ever doubted that the Compton rapper could be the second coming of Pac, all doubts are officially pushed aside. Beautiful, raw, honest, intense, To Pimp A Butterfly is a modern poet putting social commentary and storylines over beats provided by the likes of Flying Lotus, Thundercat, Terrace Martin, Pharrell, Dr. Dre, among others. Clocking in at 80 minutes, which is long for any record, especially by today’s standards, Lamar lets his feelings about celebrity, love, the hood, and black culture out with a vengeance. Combining hip-hop, funk, jazz, psychedelica, and rock, Lamar defies the sophomore slump and proves he will not be pigeonholed. With lyrics about Trayvon Martin to Michael Jackson to Nelson Mandela, as well as his “interview” with Tupac, this record is a lyrical document of our times by a one-man verbal wrecking ball.
FINAL GRADE: A+

Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds – Chasing Yesterday
Another sophomore album that refuses to be pigeonholed comes from the former Oasis axeman and songwriter, Noel Gallagher. Chasing Yesterday is Gallagher coming into his own and putting his past behind him, while the only yesterday he may be chasing is selling out massive stadiums around the world, he goes for that sound but on a different level. Chasing Yesterday is a bit more eccentric and intimate that his 2012 solo debut. Fusing jazz and rock, Gallagher goes for something new and it works.
FINAL GRADE: A

Twin Shadow – Eclipse
For his third album, George Lewis Jr. aka Twin Shadow goes from being the male version of Robyn to his own dance leader and new wave leader. Eclipse is a record about coming into your own and Shadow does that with enough tracks that will make you click repeat over and over again.
FINAL GRADE: A-

Ghostpoet – Shedding Skin
Using late night tales and the sounds of the London underground scene, Ghostpoet returns even more mysterious and romantic on his third album, Shedding Skin. A surreal, beautiful and very modern British album from one of the UK’s best exports.
FINAL GRADE: A-

Sufjan Stevens – Carrie and Lowell
Sufjan Stevens has built a very successful career being a musical unicorn who clearly gives zero fucks about what you think of him and his style. He is a funky storyteller from Detroit that breaks all musical rules and boundaries while doing it all on his own. Carrie and Lowell is his love letter to his parents and after a five year wait for fans, he returns to his indie-folk roots to go back to basics.
FINAL GRADE: B+

Incubus – Trust Fall EP
The mighty alternative rockers return with a new EP, which is actually the first part of their new record, the second part arrives later this year to make a complete record. After the epic disaster of their last album, 2011’s If Not Now, When? the Calabasas band go back to their boundary pushing roots and combine more electronic hooks and guitar than they have in recent past. This is a step for the future of the band that is headed in the right direction.
FINAL GRADE: B+

Flash Bastard – WILD
This Canadian band describes themselves as glam punk and glitter rock, but Flash Bastard are so much more than that. They are probably the most fun you will have listening to any record released in 2015 thus far. WILD is their latest offering and the title lives up to the name. Now, if only this band can tour with The Darkness and Steel Panther, all would be alright in the world.
FINAL GRADE: B+

Lieutenant - If I Kill This Thing We’re All Going to Eat for a Week
Foo Fighters bassist Nate Mendel ventures into the solo world for the very first time under the name Lieutenant. Mendel is usually the quiet one in Foo’s but this time he busts out into his own. Bringing along former Sunny Day Real Estate bandmates for the ride, he shows off his hidden songwriting skills and shows why, aside from Dave Grohl, he has been the only constant member of Foo Fighters, which after hearing this record, could be because he is the backbone to any musical act he is apart of.
FINAL GRADE: B

Cannibal Ox – The Blade of the Ronin
14 years after their terrific debut, Cannibal Ox return with their sophomore album, The Blade of the Ronin. The Bronx duo stay along similar ideas from The Cold Vein but are missing out on the flawless El-P production that record had.
FINAL GRADE: B

James Bay – The Chaos and the Calm
After a series of solid EP’s, English singer / songwriter James Bay finally arrives in album form with The Chaos and the Calm. Combining the best tracks from his EP’s as well as new songs, the man with the tall hat shows why he is one the best young songwriters today with his tender and touching side.
FINAL GRADE: B

Airborne Toxic Event – Dope Machines
Four records in and California’s Airborne Toxic Event are still making solid records. Dope Machines hears the band depart from the orchestral rock sound they were known for and hears them venture into more electronic stadium-style hooks and with enough power that will get any crowd chanting along. Just hear the single “Wrong,” and you will know we were right about this review.
FINAL GRADE: B

Atari Teenage Riot – Reset
The digital hardcore OG’s return with their fifth album and their second since their reunion and bring forth the filth, fury, and social commentary that only they can. Reset is the soundtrack to the internet lead by the Wikileaks generation.
FINAL GRADE: B

Reptar – Lurid Glow
The fantastic Athens, Georgia, indie rockers take the spirit of the Athens bands before them – REM, B-52’s, Of Montreal, and bring their own blend of silly creativity on their sophomore album. Now that the weather is getting better, this is a record to play while hanging in a park or driving around with friends.
FINAL GRADE: B

Hot Rod Circuit – Sorry About Tomorrow
The emo titans of the early 2000’s are back and pick up where they left off. Sorry About Tomorrow will surely please old fans who have been waiting for new music from this band since their hiatus in 2008.
FINAL GRADE: B

Marika Hackman – We Slept At Last
Since 2012, we have been following the career of English singer / songwriter Marika Hackman and after three years of waiting, we get her beautiful debut. The young and talented songstress plays a minimal style that lets the listener focus on her lyrics rather than her voice or the production around her.
FINAL GRADE: B

Modest Mouse – Strangers to Ourselves
It has been eight years since Modest Mouse released a new album and in that time so much has happened. Some members left, including Johnny Marr, various ideas were tossed around like high profile producers and collaborations like Big Boi. But in the end, the band returned with a record that captures their disjointed eight years away perfectly. Strangers to Ourselves is far from the best work they have done but in many cases, also, is not the worst. It does feel a bit all over the place and chaotic in sonic style and feels more along the idea of “Hey, let’s just get this out and work on the next record.” While they have been away for so long, they weren’t forgotten and this could just be an appatizer to hold fans over for something else.
FINAL GRADE: B-

Ratking – 700 Fill
The New York City hip-hop collective stormed onto the scene last year with So It Goes, now, they follow their acclaimed debut with a surprise mixtape. 700 Fill still contains that raw, raucous, and rambunctious rap that we have loved about the group but with minimal production and just letting the lyrics do the talking.
FINAL GRADE: B-

Of Montreal – Aureate Gloom
The freakishly fabulous Of Montreal return with their 15th album and the band keeps it as strange and as weird as ever.
FINAL GRADE: B-

Ringo Starr – Postcards from Paradise
Ringo is back with album No. 18 and it is exactly what you guessed it would be and sound like.
FINAL GRADE: D

Quick News

Incubus have just inked a deal with Island records. The band say they will release two EP's next year on their new label. The band's last album, If Not Now, When? came in 2011.

Are The Afghan Whigs working with Dennis Leary? Earlier this week, Whigs leader Greg Dulli posted a photo of him and Leary in the studio with the caption, "Yes that's Denis Leary of Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll. FX July." Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll is the title of Leary's new FX show, no word yet if Whigs are doing the theme song or will have a part in the series.

Band of Horses have confirmed they are working with Grandaddy's Jason Lytle on a new album which they hope to have out next year.

Pussy Riot's Nadya Tolokonnikova spoke to NME about how music is secondary to their message, saying, "We're not really musicians or from the music world. At that moment we just decided that we should do a punk band, and we got our friends together and tried to do a song. We did what we were able to. it wasn't brilliant, but it was enough for a political video. Our goal is not to make a political album, but the form of our statements is very important to us and the video clip form is one we like. Maybe at some point in the future we will do an album, but right now we want to make videos."

Also speaking to NME is RZA, who talked about Wu-Tang Clan's latest album, A Better Tomorrow, and said that the influential hip-hop group tried to get James Blake to work on the record. RZA said, "I tried to get James Blake to do a hook on 'A Better Tomorrow' but we couldn't make it happen in time." RZA worked with Blake on the British singer's sophomore album and 2013's best record, Overgrown.

Another person opening up to NME is Brandon Flowers who talked about the direction of his upcoming solo album. The Killers frontman said, "Even though I'm still young, you can start to get set in your ways. Change is good and there's always growth, I'm always looking for that. It's nice to steer the ship and that's what you'd think I’d do on my own album, but I'm letting Ariel take over every now and then. That's led to some really exciting things and sounds I would never have used. As I've gotten older I'm much more open to that – I'm much more open to peoples' strengths and really trying to utilise them – and that's where Ariel comes into the picture. He's really knowledgeable about every genre; it's pretty incredible what he's able to reference and pull out. It's definitely going to be different, but I'm still in the thick of it, hammering away."

Pussy Riot are set to appear on the upcoming season of House of Cards. No word as to what the role the band will play in the forthcoming season.

Speaking to Exclaim, Against Me!'s Laura Jane Grace said the band are planning a live album, documentary and book, saying, "It's crazy, because at this point, having six studio albums and a bunch of EPs, there are almost a good hundred Against Me! songs. To have the lineup we have right now and to feel really strong about the way we're playing and to see how those songs that we've been playing for a long time have evolved over however many years... The idea of taking the best of the best and putting together a solid 25- to 30-song record that can reintroduce some songs in their present form and really try to capture what happens when we're onstage, which is vastly different from what happens in a studio, I just think it's a cool document and worthwhile to do."

She & Him will release their new album, Classics, this fall. In a press release, Zooey Dechanel said, "We are incredibly excited to release a record of our favorite songs. It was a dream of ours to record these songs in a way that highlighted the brilliance of the songwriting and the beauty of their melodies. We had a wonderful time making the record and we hope people have a wonderful time listening to it."

Quick News

Glasvegas have confirmed via Facebook that they will be writing their new album this summer in Stockholm, Sweden.

After 10 years, Canada's Death from Above 1979 will release their sophomore album, The Physical World in September. Speaking to NME, drummer/singer Sebastian Grainger said, "No matter what Jesse and I do, on whatever scale of success it's sat on, there's always some kind of reference to Death From Above. It's only frustrating because it's so lazy. So we're putting out a Death From Above record and if the press is like, 'It's not what we expected,' or however they react to it, it's like, 'Well, you've been fucking asking for it.'"

Kendrick Lamar has confirmed that Dr. Dre is working with him on his new album that will be out this fall.

Rudimental have also confirmed that their new album, the follow-up to last year's fantastic, Home, will be out later this year.

Arctic Monkey fans might have to wait a little bit to hear new music from the band. Singer Alex Turner tells NME, "I've written a few things, but I'm not in a hurry. We're going to keep going [with touring] until the summer and beyond that a little bit, maybe. I don't know. I wouldn't think it'll be too soon that we do the next one."

Speaking to Rolling Stone, producer Rodney Jerkins has said there could be up to eight more posthumous Michael Jackson albums, saying, "eight more albums culled from outtakes and repackaged material could be released. We got more surprises coming. I'm sure there are a few more great things out there and, hopefully, we'll all have a chance to hear them."

Also speaking to NME, Johnny Marr talked about the follow-up to last year's release, The Messenger. The iconic guitarist said, ""If anything, the new one is a bit more rowdy. But I don't really want it to be too different. I like 'The Messanger' a lot and I don't think now is the time to go off on some radical reinvention just for the sake of it. That would almost feel too contrived. I haven’t gone off anywhere with my yoga mat to meditate and take a deep look at my inner self to share with the world. I just formed a rock 'n' roll band who play uptempo music and I want to continue that way for a long time. I'm not too into navel-gazing music!"

Bjork's 2011 Biophilia app album has become the first app to be featured at New York's Museum of Modern Art. Kudos!
