Rising Aritist - Tripwires

When most bands try and befriend you or myself on Myspace you usually right them off. Or at least I do. However, for some reason I went to this band's site and checked them out. Of course it didn't hurt that they messaged me and told me that I would enjoy their music and they enjoyed my article on The Editors in NYC. After a quick listen to Tripwires, I was immediately hooked. The raw talent and unpolished production plus the haunting lyrics had me going. Think a cross between Joy Division meets Cooper Temple Clause. Its art rock tone and sound even caught the ears of the BBC as they described the lads as "Not only musically strong, incredibly catchy." Originally from Reading, Berkshire. The band consisting of Rhys Edwards (vocals, guitar), Joe Stone (synth, guitar), Ben White (bass) and Sam Pilsbury (drums) met at secondary school in 2002 and have been touring England and the U.K. ever since. I hope they make it across the pond soon because I would love to catch them live. As they are on the rise in Britain, they will be releasing their first world wide single at the end of the month, the single, "Kings and Queens," will be an independant release that I think/hope will lead to bigger and better things for this band. Check them out the way I did.... www.myspace.com/tripwires
