Quick News

Coldplay have officially released the title to their much anticipated new record. For the past couple months, speculation has been brewing as to what the title of their fourth record maybe. According to Rolling Stone, the band is calling it Viva La Vida (Long Live Life) . The Spanish title comes from the band recording in Spain around this time last year and comes from a series of paintings by Mexican artist Frida Kahlo. Singer Chris Martin tells the magazine “She went through a lot of shit, of course, and then she started a big painting in her house that said Viva la Vida [...] I just loved the boldness of it.”Martin then began to joke “Everyone thinks it comes from Ricky Martin, which is fine. I have absolute respect.” Viva La Vida is due out this summer.

Also speaking to Rolling Stone is E Street Band guitarist and Soprano's Alum, Little Steven "Silvio Dante" Van Zandt. If you happened to log onto iTunes yesterday you may have noticed the free single from The Kills, free REM video (both of which you should snag), however, the real surprise comes when Gnarls Barkley unexpectedly released their sophomore disc The Odd Couple. The album which never had a release, aside from Spring 08, came out digitally yesterday and on disc next week.
