After 10 long years, The Verve have announced a US release date for their forthcoming record tentative titled Fourth. This the band's fourth record is due August 19! While The Verve bask in their news, their influencers Oasis have also released info on their latest disc. The bands seventh record Dig Out Your Soul is due October 9, and their latest single "The Shock of Lightening," is to be released at the end of September. Oasis guitarist and principal songwriter Noel Gallagher states “I wanted to write music that had a groove; not songs that followed that traditional pattern of verse, chorus and middle eight. I wanted a sound that was more hypnotic; more driving. Songs that would draw you in, in a different way. Songs that you would maybe have to connect to - to feel.” This release will also be accompanied by a world tour.
