Adele gave some insider info to Vanity Fair about the writing of her latest,
25, saying: "Having a hangover with a child is torture." She explained that the hangover came from her time drinking when she wrote and recorded her mega classic,

The singer said: "I used to love to be drunk, but as I got more famous I would wake up the next morning and think, ‘What the fuck did I say and who the fuck did I say it to?’ I never had blackouts, but when you’re drunk and you go to a party, you’ll talk to anyone. I can see from an outsider’s perspective that I will never write songs as good as the ones that are on ’21’, but I’m not as indulgent as I was then, and I don’t have time to fall apart like I did then. I was completely off my face writing that album, and a drunk tongue is an honest one. I would drink two bottles of wine, and I would chain-smoke. Then I’d write the lyrics down and the next morning think, ‘Fuck, that’s quite good’. Then I’d find the melody.”
Interpol have teased fans with a return to the studio. The band could be writing and recording their sixth album after posting something coy on Twitter.
Afghan Whigs guitarist
Dave Rosser has been diagnosed with colon cancer. The band announced 2 concerts, one in L.A. and one in New Orleans, later this month to help pay for his medical costs. In a statement, Whigs leader
Greg Dulli said: "Dave Rosser has been my close friend and bandmate for over a decade now. By doing these shows for him we hope to ease any financial stress he may face as he pursues treatment to combat his illness. 100% of the proceeds for these shows will go to his medical care. I’m hopeful that folks will come out and show their support for Dave who will be performing with us.”

Morrissey almost reformed The Smiths. The ball was in motion then suddenly Moz stopped returning the guitarist's calls for a reunion. Now, speaking to Radio 4, Marr said he is not interested in a reunion anymore. "People just don’t want to let go of this fractured band business,” he said. “You know, we were never gonna be together for 30-40 years. We weren’t REM, we weren’t U2, you know it’s just nonsense. We had 70 songs in the bank. That was enough. I’ll get on with doing movies and making records with other people and which is what I always wanted to do. So, I’m very happy with the way everything turned out.”
Iggy Pop has returned to the studio to work on the follow-up to his fantastic
Post Pop Depression album. Telling Entertainment Weekly: "I’ve made five recordings since then…But they were all recordings not where I’m about, ‘Hey, I’ve got something to say!’ No, it was just, people called me up and said, ‘Do you want to do a vocal with me, about this, under this circumstance?’ More like guesting. I would prefer to do that for a while. You know, there are people I like. I like the people I’ve recorded with — I can’t tell you who they are! — very much."
