PINK FLOYD REUNITE AT WATERS GIG!

Last night, while performing his epic Wall Tour in London, former Pink Floyd singer and bassist Rodger Waters brought out a very special guest during the beautiful guitar solo of "Comfortably Numb." The guitarist was none other than Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour. With the crowd in shock and awe and is if that was not enough of a treat, Floyd drummer Nick Mason got on stage to greet the crowd. This marks the first time since 2005's Live 8 that the original surviving members of Pink Floyd shared a stage together. Take a look at the video below:

A script by the late and great Tupac has been green lit and is set to begin production next year. The script, which Tupac wrote while incarcerated for 11 months for weapons possession is about a teenage drug kingpin looking to find a way out.

Lou Reed may have only played less than 10 songs at Lollapalooza in 2009 but that performance lasted over an hour and will now be put to DVD. No exact date has been issued for the DVD, but were on had to catch him in the flesh, take a look at our review HERE.

Rodger Daltrey will make his live return to the stage with a tour this fall performing The Who's classic, Tommy in full and with select classic Who cuts. The tour promises striking visuals but no word has been issued as to if Tommy will be a production or just Rodger singing with backing band.

While sitting down and speaking with Jimmy Fallon, Keith Richards revealed his is working with his Stones side band X-Pensive Winos for a new album. Richards also said he is still trying to get The Rolling Stones back together for a new record, he says "I'm trying to nail them down but I don't want to crucify them."

Brian Fallon of Gaslight Anthem has been updating about his side project, The Horrible Crowes. Fallon tweeted earlier today that he hopes to have the debut album from The Horrible Crowes out by September.

The Killers are set to work on "Pile of songs next week" according to drummer Ronnie Vanucci. Vanucci was on Britain's XFM when he said "Tuesday [May 17] I think we start doing some writing again. We have piles of songs we want to show each other. We're going to get back in that room and start working." The band's last record, Day and Age was released in 2008.

In unfortunate news even after last years reunion gigs, Carl Barat has confirmed that The Libertines are done for good. Barat tells NME "We are all in very different places. Right now is not the time for The Libertines. I thought the water under the bridge was under the bridge, but maybe it's not. It's a very fucking hard thing. Every time we talk it just brings it back up."

Pink Floyd are set to do a massive reissue of their back catalogue across various formats begining in September. The legendary band are set to also release Dark Side of the Moon a six disc "Immersion" box set and a two disc "experience" set. The band's other records as well as B-sides are being prepped for the same treatment.

Grizzly Bear took to Facebook this week to say "Towards the end of this month we head to Texas and continue writing new songs and begin recording new album!" The band's critically acclaimed last record, Veketimist was released in 2008.

The Walkmen are also heading back into the studio this fall after touring, band member Hamilton Leithauser has told 24bit.

Brian Fallon of Gaslight Anthem gave an update about his side project, Horrible Crows via the bands website, take a look at the studio update:
Coming to you from a secret location in the Shore of New Jersey, we have begun recording for the Horrible Crowes. So far we've got the drums, percussion, and drum loops pretty well wrapped up in bow thanks to Steve Sidelnyk. Ian finished all the bass parts yesterday and today, and I've done 60% of the Piano work and about 80% of the Hammond B-3 Organs, it's been a pretty productive not-even-first-week. The piano you see pictured above was also used on a record called "Bat Out of Hell" by a guy named Meatloaf, which is one of my top twenty albums of all time. We've got amps upon amps and noises upon noises, the exciting thing for me is this is coming out better than I could have ever dreamed. Benny came down today to hang out and we had a great time listening to all the parts we've laid down so far. There's an electricity in the air, the weather's breathing warmer, and the ocean is at my fingertips again. It's good to be home, it's good to be back in the studio with Ted Hutt and Ryan Mall, and this record is going to make the old women blush and the young girls scream. Like Greg Duli says... "does he love you? cause if he doesn't I'll be here all night.

Live Review - The Twees / The Bengson's @ Mercury Lounge

It was a busy night at Mercury Lounge on Sunday. Just after Jonah Matranga finished his set, the room was cleared for a double bill that featured two of New York Cities finest new bands; garage rockers The Twees and vaudeville rockers The Bengsons. It was a night that you had to make sure you had your dancing shoes ready because it was time to cut a little rug.

The husband and wife duo of The Bengsons would open the second gig at Mercury. Backed by a full band including a harpist, Shaun and Abigail Bengson were ready to party as were the tiny crowd that gathered on the floor in front of them. The band's music is a hybrid of Dresden Dolls meets Gogol Bordello meets Annie Get Your Gun, it is nothing but shear pleasure to watch, enjoy and indulge in. The Bengsons have been together for a few years and just earlier this year they released their latest, The Proof. While, The Proof is a fun and enjoyable listen the purpose of the record, I feel, is the lure you into seeing them live, because it is on stage where The Bengsons true home is. The band has to rise to every music journalists list as a must see band soon, because it is unlike anything you have ever seen. Its as fast and furious as a punk show but as creative and clever as an Off-Broadway play. Boundaries for The Bengsons do not exist and their shows are a testament to this.

Closing out Mercury Lounge on Sunday night were slick garage rockers The Twees. The Twees have been getting much attention these days after signing to Mike Dirt of The Bravery's label, Merrifield Records. The band of fresh young faces has been playing relentlessly around New York and are starting to see the seeds of their musical limbs develop. Front man Jason Abrishami is a one man wrecking ball, watching him move around on stage and into the shoulders of his band mates is just a thrill to watch, he knows how to work a room and get a crowd going. Guitarist Jon Zuckerman is a young axe player to keep an eye out on, he has big things ahead of him. The bands Strokes meet Stooges sound did not disappoint, as loud and ferocious as they performed on Sunday, it was the exclamation point to close out the night.
