Quick News

While at the Toronto Film festival promoting their documentary, From the Sky Down, U2 announced that their will be an Achtung Baby covers album that will feature Jack White, Damien Rice, Patti Smith, Depeche Mode and many others including Glasvegas. Stay tuned for a full track listing as to who will be doing what song off the legendary album that turns 20 this year.

The Rolling Stones are fueling rumors of a 50th anniversary world tour as the band was photographed leaving the same building in London on Thursday. The Stones are infamous for their band meetings in the British capitol, many were documented in the Mick Jagger documentary - Being Mick: You Would if You Could.

The Killers are promising more guitars on their new record, slated for a 2012 release. Drummer Ronnie Vannucci told NME that “The next album is going to have more guitars. It’s about time. In October we’re going to start recording in Nashville. It’s up in the air who’s going to produce it, I can’t officially say.”

As we mentioned earlier in the week that New Order are reuniting without bassist Peter Hook. Well, now to add fuel to the fire, Hooky has responded in a press statement saying:

"I first I heard about this on Monday and it has taken me completely by surprise! Everyone knows that NEW ORDER without PETER HOOK is like QUEEN without FREDDIE MERCURY, U2 without THE EDGE, SOOTY without SWEEP!

On a more serious note, I do not understand the decision THE OTHER THREE have taken. I wish they had approached me first. I do not agree with the methods they have used and feel it would have been courteous and professional to have spoken to me in advance of the announcements. It is very sad
."
