Sad news to report, virtuoso Indian musician and musical muse to many, Ravi Shankar passed away at age 92.

Depeche Mode have confirmed they will release their new album in March and have signed to Columbia Records.

The xx have curated three day festivals in Europe for next summer called "Night and Day." They are playing in Portugal, Germany, and UK. Each festival will have a different line-up and will be headlined each night by The xx.

Swedish House Mafia announced a "Black Tie" charity concert at New York's Hammerstein Ballroom with all proceeds going to Hurricane Sandy relief. The trio are auctioning tickets and will take place in February.

Public Enemy, Rush, Heart, Donna Summer, and Randy Newman are among the inductees to the 2013 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Following the indictment of Lamb of God singer Randy Blythe, the U.S. State Department has responded to a petition on WhiteHouse.gov on manslaughter charges Blythe faces in the Czech Republic.  Michael Posner, Assistant Secretary of State for Democracy, Human Rights and Labor, said in a statement, "Pending Mr. Blythe's trial, we cannot discuss the details of his case. We are closely monitoring the progress of his trial."
