Patti Smith has made a career out of her way with words, but in 2010 the punk-poet made a new path for herself. In her memoir, Just Kids, which chronicles her relationship with artist Robert Mapplethorp and their chance encounter together that changed both of their lives. The became each other's creative muses and began the bohemian journey of love together through Manhattan's Chelsea district and Lower East Side. Smith writes about the unconditional and passionate love that some believe only exists in the movies, yet, she proves it happened in real life. Just Kids received high acclaim and high honors immediately when it was released and even was one of New York Times best sellers of 2010.
