Rising Artist - IO Echo

Nine Inch Nails, Bloc Party, Haim, The Big Pink, Garbage, all have something in common, they are huge fans of L.A.'s IO Echo. The band, comprised of Ioanna Gika and Leopold Ross, formed in 2009 and have toured, toured, toured, and toured some more before releasing their long awaited debut, Ministry of Love earlier this year. Now, after nearly five years together, Io Echo are finally getting the recognition they deserve. They were selected by filmmakers Harmony Korine and James Franco to compose the music to their short film, Rebel and blew away audiences at Coachella and Lollapalooza this year. As we close out the year, 2014 looks bright for a band that has been working so hard. Their music combines Far East instruments, electronic hooks, and raging guitars to craft a sound that is totally unique and uncompromised. While this band may have had a bit of a past, they are still emerging as a band coming into their own and making a name for themselves anyway they can.
