Quick News

After years of laying dormant, Questlove of The Roots is reactivating Okayplayer records, the label he headed during the 90's and early 00's.

Following the success of their 2010 comeback record, History of Modern, British electro legends, Orchestral Maneuvers in the Dark (OMD) will finish working on their new record, Electric English, which they plan to have out in 2013.

Director Ron Howard is on board to film and document Jay-Z's Made in America festival, which takes place in Philidelphia on Labor Day Weekend. The festival features Pearl Jam, HOV (of course), Miike Snow, Calvin Harris, D'Angelo, Dirty Projectors and more.

Speaking of Pearl Jam, guitarist Mike McCready gave Rolling Stone an update on the bands forthcoming record. Thanks to singer Eddie Vedder doing a solo tour and drummer Matt Cameron performing double duty with his original band, Soundgarden, as they work on their new record, McCready said Pearl Jam are in a "holding pattern." McCready continued, "We're just kind of sitting around, writing songs. We have about seven ideas so far that we did last year and we're just kind of sitting on those right now." McCready also said that he and Duff McKagen and Screaming Trees drummer, Barrett Martin are working on a band together and compared their sound to Led Zeppelin. No word on a name or release on that project.

Devastating news to report, Georgia metal monsters Baroness were involved in a tour bus accident in England according to the BBC.
