Quick News

Gaslight Anthem have signed to Mercury Records, leaving label SideOneDummy after releasing two albums through them. The band will release the follow-up to last year's American Slang next year.

Hot Chip are busy in the lab crafting their next album to make our asses shake. The British electronic band's front man Alexis Taylor tells NME that there will be Buddhist Monks chanting sampled on the new record. He also says We're really happy with how it's going. We're trying to build up a good batch of songs before we get too excited about finishing the album. We want to keep going and try out as many different things as possible, so we've got the best album we can make."

LA surf-rockers Best Coast have a lot to be proud of and now they can really look forward to making their sophomore album very special. Producer / Maestro / Composer Jon Brion will produce the California band's second record.

Could it be possible? Is it really happening? Could The Smiths be making music again?! Guitarist Johnny Marr, who recently remastered all the Smiths back catalogue for a super deluxe box set, spoke to The Sun and said he is "on good terms" with Morrisssey and "maybe playing" with Andy Rourke soon. The band, which has been a fan favorite to reunite since their split in the late 80's has always sworn off a reunion. Now, it seems as if the stepping stones to get back together could still take some time, but groundwork could begin.
