While Glastonbury took over music headlines this weekend and out of the plethora of bands that performed at the world's greatest music festival, no rising band caught people's attention more than Ireland's The Strypes. This four-piece band from the town of Cavan have been making a name for themselves around the UK and Ireland for the last year, now, they finally took on the world. The band combine the early sounds of The Beatles, Rolling Stones, and skiff rock bands that inspired The Beatles and Stones and blend it together with a modern twist. After releasing an four song EP last year, Young, Gifted, and Blue, the band caught the attention of Mercury Records who signed the lads and are now making their debut album, which they hope to have out by the end of the year. This is a band that will please any generation of rock and roll fan and one to get behind.
