VINTAGE CLIP: U2 in South Africa in 1998

On this very day last year, the world lost the greatest leader it has ever seen -- former South African president and activist, Nelson Mandela. A year later, U2, a band close to Mandela's heart and a band who held Madiba close to their hearts announced their world tour for next year.

In 1998, four years after Mandela was elected into office, becoming South Africa's first black president, U2 performed in a country they had sang about for years and closed the PopMart tour in Johannesburg. It was such a big event, it was broadcast across the country on radio and TV. Take a look at the band paying tribute to the PopMart crew and Madiba during this performance of "I Still Haven't Found What I Am Looking For."
