In an interview with UK's Q Magazine, Ryan Adams has confirmed he will release a new album this fall. The record, Ashes and Fire will be out October 11 and features guest appearances from Norah Jones and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers member Benmont Tench.

Los Campesinos! frontman Gareth Campesinos took to the band's blog to mention that their third album, the follow up to last years very fun Romance is Boring is "nearly finished." Gareth says "I know that a lot of people get frustrated during the period of time between an album being declared “finished” and the album’s actual release, so I thought I’d let you know what’s going on at the moment." No word as to when the album will be released, but keep it locked here for more info.

Sigur Ros front man and current international solo sensation Jonsi has been tapped to score the next Cameron Crowe film. The film, We Bought A Zoo is based on the memoir of Benjamin Mee and tells the story of how the author and his family spent their life savings to buy Dartmoor Zoological Park. The film stars Matt Damon, Scarlett Johansson, Thomas Haden Church and Elle Fanning and is will open on Christmas.

The Shins have been quiet over the last few years, but the band will return next year with a new album and the band's first since 2007's Wincing the Night Away. The new album will be released on front man James Mercer's Aural Apothecary imprint.
