Quick News

Speaking to NME, El-P gave an update about Run the Jewels' third album, which the dynamic hip-hop duo are working on. He said, "We're chipping away at it, bit by bit, where we can. It's hard to do on the road but we're already feeling the urge to get it down and make it the hardest shit you've ever heard."

According to the New York Times, David Bowie is currently co-writing Lazarus, a theater production based on 1976's The Man Who Feel To Earth, a film that Bowie starred in. James C. Nicola, the artistic director at the New York Theater Workshop who is presenting the play, told The Times, "It’s going to be a play with characters and songs — I’m calling it music theater, but I don’t really know what it’s going to be like, I just have incredible trust in their creative vision. I’m really excited about it. These are three very different sensibilities to be colliding." It is also being reported that The Thin White Duke will be writing new songs for the production as well.

In an interview with MTV, Kendrick Lamar said that To Pimp A Butterfly was originally going to be titled "Tu Pimp A Caterpillar" which would have abbreviated to TuPAC. Lamar said, "That was the original name and they caught it because the abbreviation was Tupac, Tu-P-A-C. ... Me changing it to Butterfly, I just really wanted to show the brightness of life and the word "pimp" has so much aggression, and that represents several things. For me, it represents using my celebrity for good. Another reason is, not being pimped by the industry through my celebrity."
