2011 was the year that Mike Skinner hung up The Streets, now he will be releasing his memoir, entitled The Story Of The Streets, on March 29. It will chronicle his rise from an unknown rapper to becoming global sensation and the reason why he called it quits after a decade.

Actor Don Cheadle spoke to The Wall Street Journal this past week and gave some insight on his forthcoming biopic which see's the actor play legendary jazz musician, Miles Davis. Cheadle says, "It's not a cradle to grave story… It's not a biopic, per se. It's a gangster pic. It's a movie Miles Davis would have wanted to star in."

This past weekend, Primal Scream bid a du to Mani as he will concentrate full time on The Stone Roses reunion. Singer Bobby Gillespie spoke to Q Magazine in UK about the band's 10th studio album, slated for release this year and he says it will be a "psychedelic record" and is "based around one chord."

After confirming via Facebook a month ago that Kele Okereke is still in Bloc Party after much speculation and massive confusion that he was not. The singer has now spoken to Zane Lowe and confirmed that a new Bloc Party album will be out later this year.

In an interview with the LA Times, Elton John has spoken out that he would like Justin Timberlake to play him in a biopic. Timberlake has donned John's persona before, playing the iconic singer in the video for "This Train Don't Stop."

The Arctic Monkeys missed the mark on ringing in the New Year in Australia. The band, who were performing at Falls Festival in Lorne, left the stage at 11:58pm when they were supposed to leave and finish their set at exactly midnight to rock in the New Year. Singer, Alex Turner arrived on stage at 12:01 saying, "Sorry we thought someone else had organised a countdown … let’s do one now then shall we?

Speaking of Alex Turner, his other partner-in-crime Miles Kane confirms that the duo's side-project will release a new Last Shadow Puppets album. Kane told Noise11.com, "There will be [another record] when the time is right. We'll both know together when it's right. We're both enjoying our own things, but we're still working together and when the time is right we'll go and do that again." Kane was then asked if he could put a date on it, he replied, "Maybe the end of this year, maybe next year."

Cursive will release their new album, I Am Gemini and will be released on February 21.

Taking to Foo Fighters website, Dave Grohl confirmed that the band are demo-ing new songs with Wasting Light producer, Butch Vig. Grohl did not give any exact dates as to when any new material will be released.

Dubstep virtuoso, Burial will release a three song EP later this month via Hyperdub. The EP titled, Kindred will include the tracks:
