Quick News

In order to accommodate domestic and international publicity for her new album, Nelly Furtado has pushed back the street date to her new record, The Spirit Indestructible from a summer release to September 18.

Alan Rickman will portray CBGB club owner Hilly Krystal in a upcoming movie about the club and Krystal. The film, which will be co-written and directed by Randall Miller, will tell the story how Krystal opened the club in New York City with intentions of it being used as a country and bluegrass venue, but would became ground zero for the American punk rock movement in the late 70's thanks to bands like The Ramones, Blondie, Talking Heads playing there.

Slash sure knows how to find front men, and we mean that sarcastically, the guitarist is disputing reports that former Velvet Revolver front man Scott Weiland has claimed that he is back in the band and they are recording again with him. In an interview with ABC News Radio on Monday, Weiland said, "We’ve all grown a lot. We're able to put egos and differences and old…conflicts aside and so that's really cool." Now, on Tuesday morning on a radio interview with Minneapolis station 93x, Slash said, "He's out of his mind," Slash said of Weiland's claims. "There's been a common rumour going around, I know that he's been positive on that subject. Maybe they know something I don't know. I have absolutely no intention of going back to that…We have no intention of going backwards." Weiland was kicked out of the band in 2008.

More drama on the Black Sabbath reunion front. After months of debate and allegations, now Sabbath drummer Bill Ward has officially dropped out of the band's reunion gigs this summer, including their headlining slots at Download and Lollapalooza. Ward said in a statement:
Dear Sabbath Fans and Fellow Musicians, I sincerely regret to inform you that after a final effort to participate in the upcoming Sabbath shows a failure to agree has continued. At this time I have to inform you that I won't be playing with Black Sabbath at the Birmingham gig dated May 19th, 2012, nor will I be playing at Download on June 10th, 2012. Further, I will not be playing at Lollapalooza on August 3, 2012.
