After years of speculation and negotiations, Andre 3000 is set to portray Jimi Hendrix in an upcoming biopic that is set to begin filming in Ireland in June. The film entitled, All Is By My Side, is set to capture the legendary guitarist's early years he spent in England that help craft what would be his debut, Are You Experienced.
Soundgarden are looking at October to release their first new album since reforming in 2010 and their first new album in over 15 years.
No Doubt will release their new album on September 25. The still untitled comeback record will be the band's first since 2001's Rock Steady.
As tribute pour in from all over the world from fans and friends to Beastie Boys about the passing of Adam "MCA" Yauch, the surviving members of the legendary group have expressed their gratitude. In a statement on the bands tumblr page, Adam "Ad-Rock" Horovitz said, "As you can imagine, shit is just fkd up right now," Horovitz wrote. "But i wanna say thank you to all our friends and family (which are kinda one in the same) for all the love and support. i’m glad to know that all the love that Yauch has put out into the world is coming right back at him. thank you." Then on the groups Facebook page, Mike "Mike D" Diamond said, "I know, we should have tweeted and instagrammed every sad, happy and inspired thought, smile or tear by now. But honestly the last few days have just been a blur of deep emotions for our closest friend, band mate and really brother. I miss Adam so much. He really served as a great example for myself and so many of what determination, faith, focus, and humility coupled with a sense of humor can accomplish. The world is in need of many more like him. We love you Adam."
