The nominees for the prestigious Mercury Prize have been announced.
The award and nomination goes to the best British album of the year. Past winners include PJ Harvey, Primal Scream Portishead, Pulp, Elbow, Arctic Monkeys, The Klaxons, Alt-J, The xx and more. The awards started in 1992 and honor the best in British music.
