Quick News

CNN's Christiane Amanpour, spoke to freed Pussy Riot member, Yekaterina Samutsevich, vowed to continue the fight and continue political protest acts. She said, "We are not finished, nor are we going to end our political protest. The situation in the country has deteriorated since our performance and the trial itself is a testimony to that." She then spoke out about the bands infamous protest in a Russian cathedral that got them busted. She said the guerrilla performance was criticism of senior members of the Russian Orthodox Church for a third presidential term for Putin. She said,"We believe that we live in a secular society and in this state, the principles of the secular society should be respected," she said. "The representatives of the church should not interfere with the politics of the country, and we wanted to highlight this problem through our action." She then said, "Of course I am very happy to be out and to be free, but I'm very upset that Nadezhda and Maria are still incarcerated."

Representatives for Primal Scream have confirmed that Simone Butler has now joined the band, filling the void left by previous bass player Mani, who left in 2011 to rejoin The Stone Roses. Prior to the hiring of Butler, the spot had been filled by My Bloody Valentine's Debbie Googe, who was only acting as a touring member of the band.
