Sad news to report, legendary jazz trumpeter Donald Byrd has passed away. Byrd, who played with the likes of Sonny Rollins and Thelonious Monk and whose horn was sampled many hip-hop tracks from artists like Gangstar, Nas, Public Enemy, Larger Professor, J. Dilla, Jungle Brothers was 80 years old.

British beat maker and 2011's Best New Artist, James Blake has confirmed his new record, Overgrown, will be out in April.

Dave Grohl, who is just doing everything these days from promoting his Sound City film to hosting Chelsea Lately to performing, has confirmed that Elton John will lend his vocals to the new Queens of the Stone Age record which Grohl is drumming on.

The CBGB's Festival will return to New York City for its second year, however, instead of taking place in July, the second annual fest will take place the first week in October.

Speaking of CBGB's, Joey Ramone, the iconic singer of the iconic clubs house band, The Ramones, has items up for auction. Items from the late singer that are going under the hammer include his leather jacket, record collection, shirts, passport and other items. To see what is going on, click HERE.

Hip-hop legends Mobb Deep have confirmed they are reuniting! It appears that Havok and Prodigy will put aside their differences and tour for the outfits 20th anniversary.

After a series of cryptic tweets and posts on Instagram, it appears that The Flaming Lips are recording the Stones Roses 1988 debut for an upcoming project. This is not the first time The Lips have done a cover record, in 2010 the band famously recorded Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon.

A biopic on David Bowie and Iggy Pop's time in 1970's Berlin together is being set to be turned into a film. The film, Lust For Life, will reportedly be directed by Gabriel Range. No release date has been set.
