Pete Doherty spoke to Noisy China about how he and Carl Barat came together to form The Libertines. He said: "I met Carl and in the same way that I was outraged that UCL wouldn't take me, he was outraged at how no modelling agencies would give him a contract," Doherty recalls in the video interview. He'd sit outside the modelling agencies and all these beautiful boys would be coming out, he'd go 'Look at him, I'm much better looking than him. Let's go beat him up and get his contract.' I was not so much amused by him as frightened by him, but I needed to learn to play guitar and he needed someone to push him and believe in him. So we both just thought 'Fuck it, we'll form a band.'"

Iggy Pop spoke to Beats 1 on how his current collaboration with Josh Homme came out. He said:
"I texted [Homme] and said 'I thought we could maybe write something and record it'. That was it. He didn't have my number and it had been years since I met him... but he texted back favourably and we sort of started bouncing."
