The classic lineup of D Generation featuring Jesse Malin, Danny Sage, Howie Pyro, Michael Wildwood and Richard Bacchus have reformed and are currently in the studio working on a new album that will be due out later this year.

Speaking to 1X, Anderson .Paak has said that Dr. Dre is working on new music. He said: "He's working right now, doing a lot of work right now, I can't really speak on it. It was so quick [recording with Dre], 80/90 percent of what I did was used and then it was out. That's not usually the case with Dre. A lot of people who work with Dre, you're lucky if anything sees the light of day. It was a blessing to have all that stuff go to market at the pace it did. It's cool to be able to work with him at this place in his career when he's just ready to go."

Kamasi Washington spoke to Rolling Stone about the follow-up to last year's brilliant, The Epic, saying: "In my mind, I have plans for more large-ensemble stuff: doing some brass ensembles and not just things with the choir. … It's hard to say exactly; it's all in my head right now. … I've been messing around with recording myself over and over again. Like a 32-piece saxophone thing. Just for a demo, for a song. And I'm like, 'Hey, that sounds cool. Maybe it's something I want to do for real.'"
