Three years after the release of his solo album, Flamingo, Killers front man Brandon Flowers has announced he is recording a sophomore solo LP. One the band's current tour wraps up he told NME, "I'm excited about going home. I'm looking forward to having a normal year. But I'm going to write. I'm going to be filing those diamonds, It's my job. I'm just going to put my heart and soul into my solo record." He expects the album to arrive in 2015.

While recovering from cancer surgery, tough as nails soul singer Sharon Jones will release her new album, Give The People What They Want in January. Jones was sidelined this year after being diagnosed with stage-1 bile-duct cancer and forced her and the Dap Kings to postpone the album and tour until she fully recovered.

Speaking to The Oakland Press, Metallica's James Hetfield gave an update on the recording of the band's long awaited new album. The singer said, "Hopefully it happens soon. I'm itchin'. We have tons of material to sift through. That takes a lot of time, because there's a lot of great stuff. I know we only need a few songs, but there's 800 riffs we're going through. It's kind of insane. We have sifted through a lot of the stuff and pulled the cream of the crop - it's just sitting there waiting for us to take it to the next level."
